CLEAR BLUE DELIVERS BUSINESS-TO-CONSUMER WEB PORTAL WWW.ULTIMATEPLANS.COM
Parsippany, New Jersey - March 9, 2005 - Clear Blue Business Technology Solutions, LLC announces the launch of a business-to-consumer web portal www.ultimateplans.com. The web site launch marks the completion of a successful project managed for Creative Homeowner, a division of Federal Marketing Corporation.
Creative Homeowner is a leading publisher of how-to books and related media products for the home improvement, home construction and home arts industries. Over the past twenty-five years, Creative Homeowner has grown significantly to include titles covering decorating & design, home repair & improvement, gardening & landscaping, arts & crafts and house plans. The company wished to expand their house plan business to include internet commerce. They needed a web portal that would allow their customers to browse their products and make purchases directly through their web site. They also required an administration facility to manage the content of their web site and the orders that were received.
Clear Blue employed a blend of local and off-shore resources to control development cost and also provide the face-to-face attention to manage the project and understand the client's requirements. The entire project was completed in eleven weeks. Clear Blue held a series of requirement gathering meetings from which the technical specifications, use cases and the system architecture were created. Development proceeded as weekly builds were created and reviewed with the client to solicit feedback and monitor progress. The end of the project was marked by a period of end-to-end testing as well as user acceptance testing.
The vice president of business development remarked: "We first met with Clear Blue in December 2004 to discuss the build-out of a customized, e-commerce web site for our home plans business. As spring is our busiest season, we wanted to launch a fully functional site by early March 2005, a timeline that was considered highly unlikely by many. The successful launch of the web site experienced over 30,000 hits in the first week alone. Many happy customers took the time to send congratulatory messages to the client.
